- Section B — critical essay on Elective: Intersecting Worlds; the collision and negotiation of cultures, places and value systems, using a prescribed text (Proulx, The Shipping News) + one related text [U4 E5] — ~25 marks
- Whole-course craft: deliberate construction of a literary world at the point of intersection, voice and figurative language, integrated quotation and metalanguage, sustained conceptual argument under timed conditions — 50 marks
