What is in a free note set

Every subject on ATARMAxxing has one complete set of revision notes, split into 20 note sets that follow the current study design or syllabus topic by topic. When you claim a subject here, you get that whole set, not a sample chapter.

  • One note set per topic or Area of Study, in the order the course teaches it.
  • Key terms with definitions at the end of each set — the words the marking guides expect you to use.
  • Common mistakes for each topic, drawn from how questions are marked, so you know what loses marks.
  • A one-page summary per set for the night before a SAC or the exam.
  • Read on any device — a PDF-style reader that works on a phone, with page numbers you can cite in a study group.

Who this is for

Students in their final year sitting Year 12 exams in any state — and parents who want to see the standard of the material before paying for anything. If you are in Year 11 and already doing a Units 3 and 4 subject, it applies to you too. Pick your state, then your subject; the list changes with the state so you only see subjects that exist in your course.

What happens after you enter your email

  1. You pick your state (VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA or TAS) and one subject.
  2. You enter your email and choose a password. That one tap creates your free account and sends your notes.
  3. Your PDF is ready to download straight away, with a preview of your subject hub and the option to unlock its practice exams, worked answers and flashcards. Your subject is saved to your account, and you can continue to your dashboard from there.

One free subject per email. The other subjects you take can be previewed free on their hub pages, and unlocked for a single one-time payment if you want the full hub — every practice exam with its mark-by-mark answer guide, 64 worked questions, 200 flashcards and the official past papers by topic. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel.

The honest bit

We are independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the VCAA, NESA, QCAA, VTAC, UAC or QTAC, SCSA, SACE Board, TASC, TISC or SATAC. The notes are original, written to the public study designs and syllabuses, and we do not promise results. What we do promise is that what you download is exactly what members read inside the hub. Your email is stored under our privacy policy; the study tips, new subject announcements and offers can be stopped in one click from any email.

Common questions

What do I actually get?

The complete revision note set for one subject — the same notes members read inside that subject's hub. 20 complete note sets, one per topic or Area of Study, with key terms, common mistakes and a summary for each.

Do I need to pay or subscribe?

It is free. You pick one subject, enter your email and choose a password, and that creates your free account and sends the download link. One free subject per person. You can unsubscribe from our emails in one click.

Which subjects can I choose?

154 of the 154 subjects on the site have a free notes pack right now: 29 VCE and 30 HSC and 31 QCE and 25 WACE and 18 SACE and 21 TCE subjects. Pick VIC or NSW or QLD or WA or SA or TAS first and the list changes to match.

Are these the official VCAA, NESA, QCAA, SCSA, SACE Board or TASC notes?

No. ATARMAxxing is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the VCAA, NESA, QCAA, SCSA, SACE Board, TASC, VTAC, UAC, QTAC, TISC or SATAC. The notes are original and written to the public study designs and syllabuses. Only the past papers we link to are official.

How should I use them?

Use the notes alongside a practice question or past paper. Check your answer, find the relevant topic, then make a note of what you want to try again. You can also use them to revisit a topic from class.
