CRITICAL: Health and Movement Science (HMS) is a BRAND-NEW NESA subject (Health and Movement Science 11–12 Syllabus, 2023) that replaced the old PDHPE Stage 6 Syllabus (2012). Teaching began 2025; the FIRST HSC EXAMINATION for HMS is in 2026 (sat Oct–Nov 2026). Today's date is 2026-07-08 — the 2026 HSC has NOT yet occurred, so as of right now there are ZERO official past HSC exam papers or marking guidelines/examination reports for hsc-health-movement-science under any NESA/nsw.gov.au host. This was verified directly against: (1) the official NESA course-overview page (curriculum.nsw.edu.au/learning-areas/pdhpe/health-and-movement-science-11-12-2023/overview), which states 'examined in the HSC for the first time in 2026'; (2) the official NSW Government NESA news notice (nsw.gov.au/education-and-training/nesa/news/all/new-hms-and-hms-life-skills-11-12); and (3) the live official HSC exam papers archive (nsw.gov.au/education-and-training/nesa/curriculum/hsc-exam-papers), which organises subjects by learning-area heading — PDHPE is listed there (with real past papers 2015–2025), but 'Health and Movement Science' is NOT yet a listed subject/category, confirming no papers have been published for it.\n\nI did NOT substitute old PDHPE past papers for HMS papers, because HMS is a substantially restructured course (different focus areas, topics, and assessment design — confirmed via the official annotated sample HSC exam materials and syllabus content pages) — presenting PDHPE papers as HMS past papers would misrepresent exam content students will actually face.\n\nThe one genuine official pre-exam artifact found is NESA's 'Health and Movement Science 11-12-2023 Annotated Sample Examination Materials' PDF, hosted at library.curriculum.nsw.edu.au (an official NESA/NSW Curriculum host) — this is explicitly a SAMPLE/specimen paper for teaching preparation, not a real past exam, and is flagged as such in years[] rather than mislabelled as a past paper.\n\ntopics[] is built from the CURRENT (2023) syllabus's official focus-area/topic structure across both Year 11 and Year 12, sourced directly from curriculum.nsw.edu.au (the official NESA syllabus host) — verified by fetching the live Year 12 'Health in an Australian and global context' and 'Training for improved performance' pages directly, and the Year 11 'Health for individuals and communities' page directly; the Year 11 'The body and mind in motion' topic list was corroborated via search-result snippets pointing to the same official syllabus (not independently page-fetched line-by-line), so treat that one subtopic list as slightly lower-confidence than the directly-fetched sections, though it is consistent with NESA's published syllabus PDF structure.\n\nquestions[] is intentionally empty: per instructions, questions may only be populated from an actually-opened, actually-read past exam paper — since no real past HSC paper exists yet for this subject, and the sample paper's actual question content could not be reliably extracted from the raw PDF, no questions were fabricated or guessed.\n\nRECOMMENDATION: Rebuild/refresh this index after the 2026 HSC papers are released (typically published on the NESA/nsw.gov.au exam papers site a few weeks after the exam sitting, historically around December).
