- Section A — imaginative/creative composition: Common Module: Literary Worlds; directive to construct a world at the meeting-point of two cultures/realities (a border, a translation, a contact zone), with reflection [3/CM, 4/SK] — ~25 marks
- Section B — critical essay on Elective 5: Intersecting Worlds; hybridity, threshold and the negotiation of difference, using a prescribed text (Ondaatje, The English Patient) + one related text (Hamid, The Reluctant Fundamentalist) [4/E5] — ~25 marks
- Whole-course craft: how composers construct and bridge distinct literary worlds; interplay of context, values, perspective and stylistic technique; integrated quotation, metalanguage and a sustained conceptual argument under timed conditions — 50 marks
