- Section B — critical essay on Elective: Literary Homelands; belonging, return and the impossibility of going home, using a prescribed text (Tóibín, Brooklyn) + one related text [U3 E1] — ~25 marks
- Whole-course craft: composer's deliberate construction of a literary world, voice and figurative language, integrated quotation and metalanguage, sustained argument under timed conditions — 50 marks
