VCE Scaling: Study Scores and the VTAC Report
VCAA study scores and VTAC scaled study scores describe different things. VTAC adjusts study scores so results across studies can contribute to an ATAR aggregate. The historical examples below describe 2025, not a prediction for your cohort.

How to read a VCE scaling table
Start with the study and the raw study-score column. Read across to the scaled score for that same raw score. A raw 30 example is not a fixed bonus to add at every score: the change can differ elsewhere in the distribution. VTAC's published table rounds these examples to whole numbers, while aggregation uses scaled scores to two decimal places.
VCE subject guides and verified historical figures
This covers the 29 Year 12 subjects in our VCE catalogue, not every course offered by the authority. Historical figures do not guarantee future scaling.
Common questions
Is a raw study score of 30 the same as 60 per cent?
No. A study score describes relative performance in a study; it is not your examination percentage.
Where can I check raw scores other than 30?
Use the full VTAC report. Our 2025 report guide links the original table and explains how to read its other raw-score columns.
