Teachings & Philosophies · Lesson 6

BURN YOUR HIGHLIGHTERS.

This is Lesson 6 of the ATARMAXXING philosophy, and it's aimed straight at the nicest-looking desk in your house. Pretty notes are procrastination wearing a productivity costume. Four highlighter colours, a title in bubble writing, washi tape. It photographs beautifully. It teaches you almost nothing.

Here's the uncomfortable part: while you were making those notes, your brain was fully employed. Just not in chemistry. It was doing layout. Which colour, which heading size, does this box need a border. A completely different job to learning, done on learning's time.

Inside: why decorating feels so productive, the Netflix test that exposes fake study in ten seconds, what note-making is actually for, and the honest bit about why I sell professionally formatted notes while telling you to stop formatting yours.
