Answer: Worked solution
The pathway separates orientation, navigation and contribution. The short introduction gives users a common entry before the map offers control over which prepared account they encounter. Selecting a location changes the viewing route, while the makers still define the four available accounts. This is bounded navigation rather than unrestricted authorship.
The contribution button follows an account, connecting the opportunity to respond with material the user has just encountered. The form enables a new memory to enter the production process. Review before publication establishes an editorial boundary: submitting content does not guarantee that it will circulate. The distinction matters because the site offers both access to a prepared collection and a separate route into making new material.
The features therefore organise a progression from learning about the project to choosing a perspective and potentially adding one. Their relationship makes the requested action understandable rather than presenting an unexplained upload tool. The design does not prove every visitor will contribute or that all users have the same access conditions. It establishes particular opportunities and decision limits that can be analysed without inventing uptake statistics.
New fictional transfer exercise: flood-memory pathway. A separate original site opens with a labelled diagram of a river event, then lets users choose one of three resident accounts. Each account ends with a prompt to pin a remembered location and write fifty words; a moderator checks location relevance before publication. Sketch the pathway as orientation → bounded navigation → creation → review → circulation. For each arrow, name what the user can change and what the institution retains.
Worked response. “The diagram establishes a shared event frame before the account menu gives users control over sequence among three prepared perspectives. The map prompt then changes the role from selecting existing material to proposing a new memory tied to place. Moderation limits public inclusion, so contribution does not equal automatic publication. The design links reception with a situated response while keeping curation visible.” This directly transfers the actual question’s need to distinguish route choice, authorship and editorial boundary.
Eight-mark reasoning check. Award roughly two marks for identifying the staged pathway, two for explaining the map’s bounded choice, two for analysing contribution and review, and two for a qualified overall judgment. A weak response merely lists “introduction, map, form”. A stronger response explains consequences and retained decisions. Countercase: if the form stored private notes only, users would still create material for themselves, but the site would offer no route into the public archive. Do not claim participation rates without evidence.
