QCE questions
Who sets the QCE external assessments?
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) writes the General senior syllabuses and sets and marks the external assessment for each General subject. ATARMAxxing is independent and not affiliated with the QCAA; our materials are original resources written to those public syllabuses.
How much does the external assessment count for?
In most QCAA General subjects the external assessment contributes 25% of the final subject result, with the remaining 75% coming from three internal assessments. Mathematics and science General subjects weight the external assessment at 50%. Check your subject syllabus for the exact weighting.
What does “Units 3 & 4” mean in the QCE?
Units 3 and 4 are the Year 12 units of a QCAA General subject, and they are assessed together. Your result combines the internal assessments completed across those two units with the external assessment sat at the end of Unit 4.
