METHOD/ACCESS LIMITATION (important): Every direct fetch attempt against qcaa.qld.edu.au in this session — via WebFetch, via Bash curl (multiple user-agent strings tried), and via the nimble-web-expert skill (nimble CLI not installed, no NIMBLE_API_KEY, no nimble MCP connection) and brightdata-plugin (bdata CLI not installed) — returned HTTP 403 Forbidden or was otherwise unavailable. This appears to be site-wide bot/Cloudflare protection blocking this environment's network path, not a per-URL issue. As a result, I could NOT open and read the actual content of any PDF (syllabus, EA question book, stimulus book, marking guide, or subject report) in this session. All URLs, filenames, and titles below come from WebSearch results, where Google's own crawler had indexed the exact PDF filename/title text pulled from the document itself (e.g. "250003 English & Literature Extension subject report 2024 cohort January 2025") — this is strong circumstantial evidence the documents are live and correctly named, but it is NOT the same as a verified live fetch, and I flag every year entry with this caveat individually rather than asserting direct verification. Because no paper was actually opened and read, questions[] is empty per the task's own rule ("ONLY for papers you actually opened and read"). SUBJECT/SYLLABUS FACTS (higher confidence, triangulated across multiple independent search snippets that quoted syllabus wording consistently): - English & Literature Extension is a QCAA General (Extension) senior syllabus, first examined 2020 (v1.1), current version referenced as "2026 v1.4" (231397 English & Literature Extension 2026 v1.4) — QCAA syllabus version numbers/labels are administrative and don't necessarily mean syllabus content changed yearly; treated as one continuous syllabus era for indexing purposes since I found no evidence of a substantive content rewrite between 2020 and now (only IA3/IA1/IA4 sample-assessment-instrument version bumps). - Prerequisite: students must have completed Units 1–2 of English or Literature; Units 3–4 of Extension are studied concurrently with or after Units 3–4 of English and/or Literature. - Unit 3 "Ways of reading" = reader-centred and author-centred theoretical approaches (readings + defences). - Unit 4 "Exploration and evaluation" = text-centred and world/context-centred theoretical approaches (evaluation, repositioning audiences, complex transformation). - Assessment: IA1 20% (reading + defence), IA2 20% (complex transformation + defence), IA3 (Unit 4 extended written response up to 3000 words, weighting not independently confirmed — inferred as remainder), EA 25% ("theorised exploration of unseen text" — analytical essay response to unseen stimulus applying a theoretical approach). The IA3 percentage split was not directly confirmed from an opened document and should be treated as approximate. - Small subject: ~68-76 schools nationally offered it 2022-2024 per subject-report snippets — a niche, low-enrolment Extension subject, which likely explains sparser public indexing of its EA archive compared to mainstream English/Literature. RECOMMENDATION: Before publishing this index live, Andrew (or a follow-up session with working nimble/brightdata credentials, or manual browser access) should directly open at minimum the current syllabus PDF and 2-3 years of EA question/response books to (a) confirm these URLs actually 200 rather than 404, (b) fill in the empty questions[] array with real per-question data, and (c) resolve the 2025 gap and the unconfirmed 2021/2022 question-book filenames. I was blocked purely by network/tooling access in this session, not by the documents not existing.
