- Reader-centred theoretical approach: youth reception theory, affective reading, horizon of expectations (named as supporting lens)
- Close reading of a single unseen literary text in a single sitting
- Theorised extended response integrating text-centred and world-context-centred frameworks
- Evaluation and synthesis of competing theoretical readings and their relative productivity
- Scholarly register, literary-critical metalanguage, academic essay conventions
- QCAA Units 3 and 4: Ways of reading; Exploration and evaluation
- Adolescent subjectivity, working-class suburban space, suburbia as ideological and material construct
