- Core study: continuity and change in Australian multicultural policy — examining the tension between cultural inclusion and social cohesion through sociological frameworks (socialisation, culture, identity, power)
- Depth studies: Personal and Social Identity (how multicultural policy shapes individual and group identity, belonging, and hybridity) and Popular Culture (how media representations of multiculturalism and ethnic communities construct or challenge social cohesion narratives)
- Key HSC skills: interpreting sociological data and stimulus, constructing extended arguments using sociological concepts, evaluating policy effectiveness across time using change and continuity as an analytical lens
