This paper covers
- SEIFA indices as a measure of relative socio-economic disadvantage across Australian regions, with emphasis on spatial patterns, liveability deficits in rural and remote areas, and the role of geography in perpetuating inequality
- Geographical investigation of the liveability gap between metropolitan and non-metropolitan Australia, including access to services, employment, health outcomes, and infrastructure using census and ABS spatial data
- Evaluation of planning and policy responses to spatial disadvantage, including government programs, community resilience strategies, and the effectiveness of interventions in improving liveability in regional Australian towns
