- Section A emphasis: Q3 deviance theories, stressing Hirschi and differential association.
- Section B lead institutions: Q5 stratification led by work; Q6 power and politics led by media; Q7 interrelationships led by family; Q8 changes over time led by education.
- Section B stimuli, one per institution: family: a constructed item on family violence services, framed in general structural terms; education: a constructed item on Austudy and staying in study; work: a constructed item on retirement age changes; media: a constructed item on ownership of regional radio.
