This paper covers
- Section A (Criteria 2 and 8): Surfing at Clifton Beach: rising swell, a rip, and two over-confident participants; compare situational and transactional leadership.
- Section B (5 compulsory questions, 8/8/8/8/8 marks, Criterion 3): leader attributes for a large group; SMART goals in a beginner surf lesson; creative decision making; risk rating; reflection via group discussion
- Section C (6 compulsory questions, 6/6/6/6/8/8 marks, Criterion 5): individual and group needs at the beach; auditory and visual signals in surf; Tuckman forming; compromise over who surfs first; overload in safety instructions; active listening when a participant is anxious
- Section D Part 1, compulsory (Criteria 7 and 8): Coastal development and access to beaches and shorelines
- Section D Part 2, choose one (Criteria 7 and 8): Technology and the surf experience: forecasting apps and connection OR Sense of place on coastlines for Aboriginal and settler Tasmanians
- Practice mark model: Sections B and C use real TASC-style mark patterns (5 × 8 and 6/6/6/6/8/8 = 40 each); Sections A (40) and D (2 × 30) are rated A+ to z on the real exam and carry practice marks only.
