TASC scaling 2025: every TCE course we cover
In TASC's 2025 Course Scaling Information, the highest average course scores among the TCE courses we cover were Chemistry (17.9), Physics (16.4) and English Literature (15.0), out of a course-score range that ran from 1.0 to 26.0. Across all 50 scored TASC courses, only Mathematics Specialised (19.0) averaged higher than Chemistry. TASC's 2025 Course Scaling Information, dated 16 December 2025, gives every TCE Level 3 and 4 course a range of course scores for each award; this table lists all 21 TCE courses we cover.

Every TCE course: how it scaled in 2025
How TCE scaling works
In Tasmania, TASC rates each Level 3 and Level 4 course against its criteria, from your school's assessment and the external examination, and combines the ratings into an award from Exceptional Achievement down to Preliminary Achievement. Scaling then converts each award of Satisfactory Achievement or better into a course score on a common scale, by comparing every result a student achieved with the results of every other student across all their courses; in 2025 course scores ran from 1.0 to 26.0. Your Tertiary Entrance score combines your best course scores from any two years of senior secondary study to a total of 60 to 75 points — normally five 15-point courses — and the ATAR is your rank on that score. Scaling is recalculated every year from that year's cohort, so a published score range describes one past cohort and is never a guarantee.
See how the Tertiary Entrance score turns into a rank with the TCE ATAR guide, and every course we cover on the TCE subjects page.

Which TCE courses scale highest?
In TASC's 2025 Course Scaling Information, the highest average course scores among the TCE courses we cover were Chemistry (17.9), Physics (16.4) and English Literature (15.0), out of a course-score range that ran from 1.0 to 26.0. Across all 50 scored TASC courses, only Mathematics Specialised (19.0) averaged higher than Chemistry. Scaling is recalculated every year, so treat these as last year's pattern, not a promise.
Why do some TCE courses have no figure here?
We show an average course score only where we have read it from TASC's 2025 table for that course. For the other 10 courses we have not verified a figure, so the cell is left empty rather than estimated. TASC's own table lists every course.
When does TASC publish 2026 course scaling?
TASC publishes course scaling after results are finalised each December; the 2025 table is dated 16 December 2025. Until the 2026 table is out, the 2025 figures are the latest, and they describe a past cohort rather than the year you are sitting.
