TCE Exam Revision: Using TASC Past Papers and Assessment Reports
A quick tip for Tasmanian students working through past papers: check that the paper matches your current course before treating it as a full practice exam.
TASC notes that older papers can differ from current requirements. Start with your current course page and its External Assessment Specifications, then choose a suitable paper from the official TASC past papers collection.
Try a section under timed conditions. Afterwards, read the assessment report for that year on the course page and compare the feedback with your answers. Keep a short list of things to fix, such as missing working, vague explanations or leaving a question unfinished.
For your next session, practise those specific skills before doing another whole paper. Ask your teacher about any answer you still cannot judge confidently.
Save some time for checking your exam requirements too, including permitted equipment and the instructions for your particular course.
For TCE study material to use alongside the official papers, see our guide to TCE study resources and the TCE subject hubs.

Common questions
Can I use any old TASC paper for practice?
Check it first. TASC notes older papers can differ from current requirements, so start from your current course page and its External Assessment Specifications.
Where are the TASC assessment reports?
On each course page on the TASC website, listed by year alongside the papers.
What should I do with a question I cannot judge?
Ask your teacher. Keep it on your list rather than guessing whether your answer would have scored.
