This paper covers
- Section A (10 marks): 10 multiple-choice questions spanning the full HSC Design and Technology course — design factors, design process, project management, designers and end-users, research and experimentation, production technologies, evaluation and marketing, innovation case study, social/environmental impact, and ethics/data/IP/AI.
- Section B (30 marks): Written responses grounded in the Major Design Project scenario of a height-adjustable modular standing desk for small home offices. Includes short and extended responses (3+3+4+5+15=30), culminating in a 15-mark essay on how emerging manufacturing technologies (CAD/CAM, additive manufacturing, automation) reshape production and the designer's role.
Students are permitted to bring into the examination the materials normally allowed for this subject. Answer all questions in the spaces provided.
