This paper covers

  • Unit 3 differentiation of exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions via chain, product and quotient rules
  • Applications of differentiation: rates of change, kinematics, stationary points, concavity and optimisation
  • Introduction to integration: standard antiderivatives, reverse chain rule, definite integrals and area
  • Discrete random variables: Bernoulli sequences, the binomial distribution and expected value
  • Unit 4 integration extended to area between curves and the trapezoidal rule for numerical integration
  • 2D and 3D trigonometry using the sine rule, cosine rule and bearings
  • Continuous random variables and the normal distribution: z-score standardisation, technology probabilities and inverse normal
  • Inferential statistics: sampling distribution of the sample proportion, confidence intervals, margin of error and sample size
  • Real-world logarithmic modelling of bushfire spread with written contextual conclusions (Complex Unfamiliar)
  • Correct QCAA notation, constant of integration, units and evaluative justification across all six assessment objectives

Students are permitted to bring into the examination the materials normally allowed for this subject. Answer all questions in the spaces provided.
